La Tranquilite & L'Impressioniste Restaurant is on Avenue L between East 91st and East 92nd streets. Charles Rogers Despite its reposing name, the La Tranquilite Restaurant at 9117 Avenue L was anything but tranquil on February 12 when three men decided to invade the place at about 10 p.m., grab as much money from the cash register as they could and run.

According to officials from the 69th Precinct Detective Squad, the incident happened at about 10 p.m. as the manager, a 48-year-old woman whose name was not released, was getting ready to close, and three men calmly walked in through the front door. One of the men pulled a black handgun out from under his sweatshirt and demanded the woman open the cash register. She complied, at which time he quickly grabbed approximately $400 in cash from her.

Meanwhile, one of the men accompanying the gun-wielder came over to the woman and quickly ripped a gold chain from her neck. The woman screamed because when the thief stole her chain, it scraped her neck.

All three men quickly ran out of the restaurant and escaped on foot, police said.

There was no description given of the third man, but the first and second thieves were described as black. One is about five-feet, six inches tall and he weighs about 150. He wore a grey, long sleeve shirt and black jeans at the time of the robbery. The other man is about six feet tall and weighs approximately 170 and was wearing a navy blue sweatshirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call the 69th Precinct Detective Squad at (718) 257-6215 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS. All calls will be kept strictly confidential.
